Sand Skiing 9/8 to 9/9/2007
And now for something completely different.
I met up with a bunch of people from http://www.telemarktips.com at Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado's San Luis Valley... to go skiing. On sand. It frickin' rocked! Common sand skiing questions:
-You use an old pair of skis with dense bases.
-There is more friction, so steep slopes and staying in the fall line are key.
-It doesn't hurt the skis ar all.
-You can ski up just as if you were using climbing skins.
