Torreys Peak via Kelso Ridge 8/30/08
I had been wanting to get on an alpine scrambling route for awhile. Kelso Ridge on Torreys is a classic, and close by.
We found it much easier than its reputation. The route is 7 miles round trip and 3000' of climbing with some class 3 and class 4 scrambling. The cruxes were very short. But despite being a bit disappointed, it was fun.
It took us 3.5 hours car-to-car. That was with two short breaks for food, and no time on the summit (we had both climbed the peak before, and it was a madhouse up there).
